Diving and training is arranged for all levels of diving. Some dive centers insists on several “check” dives before qualifying for certain types of dives. Some dive sites requires advanced level diver certification. It is a good idea to contact the dive centers well in advance for booking and arrangement of schedules.
CONDITIONS:
In reality diving is done year around in France on the northwest coast as well as on the southeast coast. However, in the Mediterranean the Mistral can blow fiercely in the summer time making Mediterranean seas too rough for diving and the autumn storms can make the westcoast far too choppy. Best time for diving in the Mediterranean is from April to October and diving on the westcoast is best from May to September. Flights to Corsica are available both from France and other European Airports. Ferry routes are frequently cut by strikes, which can cause up to days of waiting. Recommended insulation in the water is a full 5mm or 7mm wetsuit for warm Mediterranean conditions and semi-dry or drysuit for the cold season. A drysuit is recommended year-round in the northwest.
